Why Sesame?

Sesame oil is one of the base products in over 90% Ayurvedic oil treatments. Sesame seed is a storehouse of many nutrients and a symbol of prosperity and health in ancient folklore. Its greatest benefit is in balancing Vata. It has a warming property, grows in a dry climate and in turn, is beneficial when dry quality is in excess.

The Forgotten Kolhu!!!

Ghani: A traditional method of oil processing

I am an age old authentic and healthy tradition of extracting oil that lost its race to modern methods due to less productivity. But now it is proven that the oil produced by my method is way healthier than the processed oil produced through modern methods. My method does not involve any external addition of heat which helps the oil retain the health benefits. The seeds are crushed in the wooden axis. Most of the heat generated while extraction is absorbed by the wooden axis. Kolhu Oil is the product you didn’t think you need, but once you have it, it will be something you won’t want to live without.

History and declination of Kolhu

At the beginning of the twentieth century, Kolhu in India crushed almost 97 percent of all oilseeds. These numbers dropped sharply as power-driven screw-presses, hydraulic presses and solvent-extraction units came into operation. At present, just 4 percent of all oilseeds are pressed in ghanis. One of the main reasons for the decline of Kolhu is its Low yield.

Difference between kolhu and refined oil

Refined oil which is more commonly known as expeller oil, During its manufacturing, is processed at extremely high temperatures exceeding 200 degrees Celsius and is mixed with chemical solvents to enhance the yield.

On the other hand, Anveshan Kolhu oil is extracted at 50 degrees celsius and is naturally extracted without adding any other chemicals or preservatives.

Benefits of Kolhu Wood Pressed Oils

Oils produced through this method do not have any chemicals or preservatives.

Most Kolhu oils are rich in vitamin E, which has anti-inflammatory and healing properties.

Kolhu oil is also rich sources of oleic acid that help boost your immune system.

There is no external solvent added during the process.

Wooden Kolhu oil is in its natural molecular nature though the yield is lesser.

The method is cruelty-free and good for the environment.
